ReCNFGRed is the term YL architecture gives to projects which have literally had their insides reconfigured.

It seems to be that only in densely populated areas we are forced to be smart with our building footprint and the space in which we inhabit.  It is too easy in suburban Canberra to maximise the building envelope to the extremities of the block, or extend into the garden.

Existing homes often have poor, internal layouts with little or no interaction with the garden.  In many cases, the most sustainable and functional option is to retain the existing building shell and reconfigure the internal spaces.
